Pontoon is played with six decks of cards, 312 cards in total.
The card values are as following: the Ace is counted as "1" or "11", picture cards (J, Q, K) count as "10" and all other cards as indicated by their Face Value. The purpose of this game is to have a higher total than the dealer or a Five Card Trick, but never to exceed 21.
Whenever the total of your cards exceeds "21" you lose (bust) without regard to any further cards draw, including the dealer´s cards.
The best possible hand is Pontoon, your first two cards must be an "Ace" and any "10" value card. Pontoon is paid at 2:1, a Five Card Trick is paid at 3:2. All other winning bets are paid even money (1:1), apart from winning Insurance bets, which are paid 2:1.
THE GAME
After all players have placed their bets the dealer will now deal out the cards from your right. 1st, one card to all players including one card to the dealer. Then, 2nd card is dealt to all players, but not to the dealer. All cards are dealt face up.
The dealer asks all player in turn (again, from your right) whether they want another card or not. Every player must show clearly (either verbally or manually) whether they do or do not want another card or till the player has a Five Card Trick.
PONTOON
As soon as all player´s have made their decisions, the dealer will now finish dealing the rest of their cards, until a total of 17 or more is reached. If the total of dealer´s cards exceeds "21", all players remaining in the game win. All players which have the same and/or lesser total than the dealer lose.
If you receive Pontoon with your 1st two cards and dealer´s 1stcard is not an "Ace" or "10" value card, you Win and your bet will be paid at 2:1 immediately.
FIVE CARD TRICK
If you receive five cards and their total sum does not exceed "21" (you have a Five Card Trick), you Win immediately and the dealer will pay your bat as 3:2. Only players can achieve a Five Card Trick, not the dealer.
DOUBLING YOUR BET
As soon as you have received your 1st two cards, you may Double your bet two more times (which is always the same amount as your original bet). The 1st Double must be before you received you receive your 3rd card. The 2nd Double must be before you received your the 4th card, provided that you have already Doubled the 1st time.
Even after you have Doubled the 1st and/or the 2nd time you may ask for more cards, or till you have a Five Card Trick.
SPLITTING YOUR CARDS
If your 1st two cards ate of the same Value or are Pairs, you may Split them into two separate hands. However, you must place bet another which is always the same amount as the original bet. The number of the splits is unlimited.
The only exception is with "Ace´s", they can be Split just once and you receive only one more card.
If the total of this hand is 21, ("Ace! and "10" value card), this is not Pontoon and if it is a winning hand it will be paid even money (1:1). Doubling on Split hands is possible.
INSURANCE
If the dealer´s 1st card is an "Ace", you may insure your bet against a dealer´s possible Pontoon. If you wish to do so, you can place up to half of your original bet. The Insurance bet should be placed on the left hand side of the bet (box) you wish to insured.
If the dealer does make Pontoon, all losing bets are collected and all Insurance bets are paid 2:1. If the dealer does not make Pontoon (the dealer´s 2nd card is not a "10" value card) all Insurance bets lose and the game continues as normal.
EVEN MONEY
If you receive Pontoon with your 1st two cards and the dealer´s 1st card is an "Ace", you can ask for Even Money. If you decide to do so, you will only be paid at 1:1.
